This Editorial Policy explains how Blink Lexicon plans, writes, and maintains its content, and how we keep it independent and trustworthy.
How we choose topics
We start from the questions drivers actually ask: what a symbol means, why an alert appears, and how to make it go away. Reader messages, common failure patterns, and gaps in existing coverage guide what we publish next.
How we create content
Every article is written and edited in-house by our editorial team, drawing on hands-on experience with vehicles and diagnostic tools. We favor plain language over jargon, real numbers over vague claims, and clear steps over filler.
Accuracy and sourcing
Technical claims are checked against reputable sources such as safety agencies, standards bodies, and manufacturer documentation. Where we describe a procedure, we note when it varies by vehicle and when a professional should be involved.
Corrections and updates
We review and refresh articles as vehicles and standards change. If you spot an error, tell us through our contact page and we will investigate and update the article promptly.
Independence
Our editorial decisions are made independently. We do not accept payment to recommend a product, shop, or service, and advertising or affiliate relationships never influence what we conclude. Any affiliate relationships are disclosed in our Affiliate Disclosure.
Use of images
Photos on the Site are licensed from reputable stock libraries and used to illustrate topics. We credit sources on our Image Credits page.
